Linen
Linen is one of the world's oldest, most revered textiles. Woven from the cellulose fibers found inside the stems of the flax plant.
Sustainability Profile
- Low Water Footprint: Flax grows naturally with minimal rainfall and requires significantly less water than conventional cotton.
- Zero Waste Potential: Practically every part of the flax plant is used. The long fibers become high-end linen, the short fibers are spun into coarse twine, and the seeds are harvested for linseed oil or nutritional flaxseeds.
- Minimal Chemical Input: The plant is naturally resilient and typically requires far fewer pesticides and fertilizers than other commercial fiber crops.
The process of making linen is more labor-intensive, however, which is why linen is generally slightly more expensive than cotton. On the other hand, linen is stronger, lasts longer and has a unique summer and casual look.
Why wear linen?
Linen is a fine breathable fabric to use for summer designs. This is because the fabric is worn especially in warm temperatures. This is due to the airy, moisture absorbing and antibacterial characteristics of linen. If you wear linen clothing, you will not easily get bad odors. Cotton Modal
Cotton modal is a popular blended textile that combines the best properties of natural cotton and modal. When you blend them—usually in a 50/50 or 60/40 ratio—they balance out each other's weaknesses perfectly.

From an environmental standpoint, modal is often viewed as a step up from conventional synthetics because it is bio-based and completely biodegradable. Because it is derived from beech trees which require significantly less water and land than conventional cotton plants.
When cotton and modal are blended together, they create one of the most popular duos in sustainable fashion. By combining a classic natural fiber with an advanced, wood-derived cellulosic fiber, the blend offsets the environmental and performance downsides of each material on its own.
Why Blend Them?
Pure cotton can lose its shape, stiffen up over time, and hold onto sweat. Pure modal can sometimes feel too slinky, heavy, or drape so fluidly that it lacks structural integrity.
